The DARPA Lift Challenge sets demanding benchmarks for heavy-lift drones. We use them as design targets for our next aircraft: an airframe under 25 kg that carries four times its own weight over five nautical miles.
These figures are targets, not results. Entering the challenge is not the goal. The benchmarks give us a clear external standard to design, build and test against.
More details will follow as the design matures.
